Google Plus (Google+) was launched on 28.06.2011 - until today the social networkng platform Google+ (GPlus or G+) was only available by invitation.

From today on, 20.09.2011, the social networking service Google+ is finally public - Anyone can sign up for Google+ — no invitation required.  (Source: The Official Google Blog)
